She was educated home, experienced an early childhood enthusiasm for writing, & at a age of Twelve sent a few of her poetry to T. S. Eliot who replied with a two page letter of encouragement.

She served as a civilian nurse around London during the bombings of World War II.

Her number one book of poetry, A Double Image, was published inside 1946.

She married an Western writer, Mitchell Goodman, in 1947, and moved to the United States inside 1948, living primarily inside Future York City, & within Maine in a period of the summertime. Within 1955, she became a naturalized citizen of the United States.

She published her number one U.s. book On text & Okay, around 1956, and by using a publication of By owning Eyes at a Back of my Heads in 1959 she began to gain wide plaudits.
